Airport Recommendations

  • Hollywood/Burbank (BUR) is closest at 18 miles from JPL.
  • Los Angeles International (LAX) is next nearest at 30 miles. It has the most flight options but traffic from LAX to Pasadena is awful during rush hour.
  • Ontario International (ONT) is 36 miles away. The traffic is (usually) not as bad as at LAX.

  • Residence Inn by Marriott Los Angeles Pasadena/Old Town

    Driving to JPL

    From the Residence Inn Pasadena, take W. Walnut St west to I-210 W for 3 miles, exit on Berkshire/Oak Grove Dr, turn right onto Berkshire then turn left onto Oak Grove Dr. Continue on Oak Grove approximately 1 mile to the JPL check point. Traffic leading to JPL can be fairly congested, particularly in the morning.

    Wherever you are driving from, please approach JPL via Oak Grove Dr to reach the JPL check point traffic circle.

    Parking and Check-In

    At the checkpoint, let the guards know that you are here for a workshop and they will direct you on where to park. Note that the guards may ask to check your ID and inspect your vehicle. Once you park, walk over the the Visitor Center building and check in at the kiosk. The staff will check you in and provide you with your visitor badge. A JPL representative with meet you after your check in and escort you to the course location.

    Please be sure to bring appropriate ID to show at the Visitor Center to access the lab.
